Direct Primary Care

A better way to care, built around families

How It Works

A simple membership model designed to give families more time with their pediatrician, easier access to care, and a lasting relationship with a doctor who knows their child.

Direct Primary Care is a membership-based model of healthcare. Instead of billing insurance for routine office visits, families pay a simple monthly membership fee. This allows us to offer longer appointments, same- and next-day availability, and direct access to your pediatrician—all without copays or per-visit charges.

It's a model designed around time, accessibility, and relationships, giving us the opportunity to know your child and partner with your family through every stage of childhood.

Insurance

Insurance & specialty care

Dakota Children's Clinic does not bill insurance for membership-based primary care. Your monthly membership covers the primary care services included in your plan, while you can continue to use your health insurance for services outside the clinic, such as labs, imaging, medications, specialist care, and hospital services.

We recommend maintaining health insurance for care outside of your Dakota Children's membership, including emergencies, hospitalizations, surgery, specialty care, and other major medical needs.

Think of your membership and insurance as serving different purposes: your Dakota Children's membership provides your everyday pediatric care and direct relationship with your pediatrician, while insurance remains available for care beyond the clinic.
